How To - Cupcake in a jar
The cupcake in a jar craze seems to be everywhere I look nowadays. If you haven't heard of this phenomenon yet then prepare to amazed...or baffled. These portable, minimal mess cupcakes are a fabulous treat, the perfect addition to a packed lunch or picnic and all you need to enjoy them is a spoon. They come packaged so sweetly it's almost a shame to crack one open for the goodness inside. Bangerang Bake Shop (aka Fat Daddy Bake Shop) is the originator of this fantastic idea. In addition to their delicious jarred cupcakes you can also find "frosting shots". Check out the Bake Shop. As convenient and delicious as these cupcakes are I am a crafty sort and one who loves to bake. I had to find out how to make a version of these myself at home. Here are some of the helpful links I have found -
DIY Bride has easy to follow directions on how to bake cupcakes directly inside of a jar using a favorite recipe of your choosing.
Little Bit Funky uses the method of baking the cupcakes first and then filling jars with cupcakes and fun fillings.
Of course there is also the fun of decorating the jar of the finished product. The picture featured above is my most favorite and is from Dana McCauley's Food Blog. This is definitely a project to get creative and have a good time with. ENJOY!!! :)
Thanks for the shout out! I'm so pleased you like my cupcakes in a jar - they were such a hit with people. In fact, even non-dessert eaters couldn't resist!
