The Planning Begins...

My biggest thrill with moving into our new home next month?? Decorating a bedroom for my beautiful baby girl. I am a serious girly girl at heart but have been happily playing with cars, trucks and trains in the dirt for 4 years now. The thought of going all out pink and femme for Arianna's new bedroom has me absolutely giddy. My inspiration came from The Shopaholic Ties the Knot book by Sophie Kinsella. I want a Princess in the Enchanted Forest nursery. Just imagine..a wall ladden with actual birch trees (ok very large branches but you get the idea), a beautiful sleigh crib, pinks, sage greens, a special corner for princess tea parties *swoon*. My budget may not allow me to go as all out as I would like but here is what is grabbing my attention at the moment -

Paper Birch Poles, 5 for US$150 and Paper Birch Forks, 5 for between US$140-US$150. Available at Nettleton Hollow.

Totally out of my price range but completely drool worthy. KidTropolis Princess Carriage Crib.

I love this white Sleigh Crib, US$699 and Penelope Nursery Bedding, from US$22-$US79, available at Pottery Barn Kids.

Toadstool Table & Chairs Set, US$400, available at Chasing Fireflies.

Bird Mobile - Learn how to make your own at Spool Sewing.

Cocoon Couture Enchanted Tree, AU$350. (I WANT!! I WANT!! I WANT!!)

  5. Good ideas! If you were feeling crafty I bet you could make a spinoff of that chair and table set. I once saw a tutorial for turning those big metal popcorn containers into foot stools. Maybe something similar?

Oh, also I gave you an award for your SUPER blog:

  6. Love your blog!!! I am just dying over the mushroom table and chairs!!! There's GOT to be a way for the layperson to make those!!! And I think the idea of putting real branches in her room is just so carming and natural! I've been working on a similar brach/birds mobile for Spring.
Off I go to look around some more!

  7. BTW, I think I could make that tree rather easily and quite a bit cheaper if you want to discuss. I could leave the leaves blank if you wanted to decorate yourself according to the room's colors. Let me know!
