Sand Dough

This homemade sand dough is more like a sculpting clay than a play dough and is a huge hit at craft time. You can try whipping up a batch of your own with simple household ingredients and some sand from your backyard sandbox.

Sand Dough

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups sand
  • 1 tbsp. white glue
How-To

1. Add flour and water to a large bowl.

2. Mix and knead into a sticky dough.

3. Add 2 cups of the sand. Knead the sand into the dough, be patient, this may take some time.
4. Add the glue. Knead and add the remaining sand until desired consistency is achieved. If too dry add additional small amounts of water or glue as needed. We mixed our dough in 3 separate portions which made kneading easier.
Store dough in an airtight container.

Get creative :)
