Muffin Tin Crayons
We've been saving up broken bits and pieces of crayons for months now with this project in mind. After a while my eager artist began breaking his crayons on purpose to hurry our project along. At long last this evening we finally made our first batch of muffin tin crayons.
The best advice I can give is - A) Put a container aside that you can collect broken crayon pieces in over time..and be sure to peel the wrappers off FIRST. Peeling all of those little bits of wrappers off at one time can be VERY time consuming. B) Do NOT..I repeat do NOT put crayons straight into the muffin tin unless you are using muffin tin liners or have sprayed your pan well with cooking spray. Several resources state that removing the crayons should be as easy as tapping the bottom of the pan..I only wish. We had to take a hammer to our muffin tin, it will never be the same.How-To
1. Preheat oven to 250. Fill muffin tin (prepped with liners or cooking spray) about 1/3 full with broken crayon pieces. Bake about 7 minutes..but keep a watchful eye!! Remove from oven once all pieces have melted.
2. Allow to cool completely before removing from muffin tin.
Happy Crafting!!

If you are having trouble getting them out of the tin... just stick them back in the oven just long enough to warm up the tin... they should be able to pop right out.
We tried that as well after we could only free 3 from the tin. We found the ones that we warmed up in the oven came out a little rougher looking than their cooled down counterparts. Did you have the same problem with your batch??
