Addicted to Apple Crisp
We have been making a lot of apple crisp around here which is probably contributing to my difficulties in getting back into my pre-pregnancy jeans. Anyhow I am almost certain we have come up with the perfect recipe for it as much as my other half may argue that one does not need a recipe for apple crisp.
APPLE CRISP
Ingredients -
10 medium sized apples, peeled, cored & sliced
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 tsp ground cinnamon (plus some additional for apples)
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg (plus some additional for apples)
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups softened butter
3 tbsp. granulated sugar
1. Preheat Oven to 350.
2. In a large bowl combine the flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Mix in softened butter until crumbly.
3. Toss apple slices with some additional cinnamon, nutmeg and granulated sugar.
4. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray. Pour apples into pan. Cover apples with crumble mixture.
5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until apples are tender.

you forgot to add that when mixing the cinnamon and dash of nutmeg and "granulated" sugar with the apples, use lemon juice so the apples don't brown and gives the apples a nice tart flavor.
so says the apple crisp master
ps: go easy on the oats...
and there is no need for "cooking" spray...lets go easy on mother earth...
You heard the apple crisp master people...but I LOVE the oats personally. If it were up to Jamie there would be no oats at all!!
